Wedding flowers

I love flowers. They are one of my passions in life. So for our wedding in summer next year, I'd like our wedding flowers to have a wildflower, "just picked from the garden" feel. I"m not looking for traditional David Austin rose bouquets (although nothing wrong with that either!). I want flowers with complementing colours, preferably something colourful and bright.

I have three bridesmaids and my aim is for them to all have different bouquets so as to differentiate their very different personalities.

Our centrepieces will have a similar type of presence. Low key (I don't want big, tall centerpieces blocking everyones view on the table), colourful and have a garden cottage, wildflower feel. Hopefully, we'll be able to find appropriate seasonal flowers to keep the costs down.

I have a real passion for peonies but I think they may be out of season in Melbourne by the time we get married. My budget for wedding flowers is about 1000 dollars at the moment. I hope to be able to fit in 9 centerpieces, 1 bridal bouquet, 3 bridesmaid bouquets, button holes and corsages. Think we'll make it?

  1. oh wow, they are so beautiful and rustic. Love the first couple of photos and the last two. I agree with the not wanting tall centerpieces, it does make them quite hard to see over. We're just going for low ones aswell. Love your inspirations, they are all so beautiful!

  2. thanks! I will probably not look seriously into a florist for another few months as it is still about a year away but i will certainly put up photos once i know what i'll be getting! Hopefully the florists in australia will be able to recreate some of the inspirations I've seen on the net.
